FOCUS ON: CYBERSECURITY
Looking for a technical focus on protecting computers and data against hacks and malware? The M.S. in Cybersecurity in Computer Science is offered through the School of Engineering & Applied Science and provides coursework in software programming and system architecture geared toward protecting computer systems. The master’s in Cybersecurity & Information Management is offered at the College of Professional Studies and is more suited to working professionals already in the military, government or private sectors who are managing policies and laws focused on protecting organizational data and information.
FOCUS ON: DIGITAL FORENSICS
The growing rate of cyber crimes has increased the need for professionals trained in forensics and investigations specifically geared for the digital realm. The Columbian College of Arts and Sciences offers the M.S. in Digital Forensics, which covers the legal, technical, management and behavioral factors associated with conducting computer-related crime investigations. Students acquire skills in investigating computers, mobile phones and GPS technology to bring digital crime to justice.
PART-TIME CERTIFICATES
Don’t have time to complete a full master’s degree? GW offers the certificate in Computer Security & Information Assurance as well as in Digital Investigations. Both programs offer working professionals the ability to take evenings courses in D.C. and Virginia.
